It is Time for Lightworkers to Unite

What is a lightworker, and what does it mean if you have a calling to be one?

There is one thing that we can all agree on; at this moment, the world is in deep suffering. You see it everywhere these days, on the news, on social media and on the internet, and you see evidence of it as you go about your day in the wider world. It seems as if more and more people are lost, confused, and so wrapped up in their misery that it negatively affects their whole lives. What’s worse is that all of their fears and worries are valid. They have weight, a physical, tangible bearing on their day-to-day lives that gives the impression that there is no hope for anything better. When more and more people start to lose hope, that is when you see the failure of society as a whole. People stop caring about others. They turn to crime to meet their basic needs or drugs to escape their despair. It is difficult for them to see any other way to survive.

That is why, as lightworkers, we must come together now before we lose the chance to save humanity.

As lightworkers, it is time for us to unite. The world needs us. Embrace your inner calling. It is time.

The world needs us.

Lightworker: An explanation

The word ‘lightworker’ was conceived by spiritual healer and metaphysical teacher Michael Mirdad and was later popularised by Doreen Virtue in her book The Lightworker’s Way. The term is used to describe people who feel an intrinsic need to help others through many different paths, such as Reiki healing, divination and psychic readings. Even those with no spiritual inclination could be considered lightworkers. They may take more traditional methods of helping others, such as teachers, doctors, nurses, therapists, counsellors and volunteers. These people have a common desire to better the world by doing their part to help humankind. They are generally empathetic beings who do their best to brighten the world with a positive attitude and joyful outlook on life. They have made a commitment to be the servants of humanity because they know the only way to change the world is to BE that change. They shine their light to inspire change in other people.

Lightworkers tend to be the kinds of people you go to for help. They may be a trusted friend, someone you know who will listen to what you say and offer impartial advice, or a family member who has guided you well in your life and instilled values that have helped you become a kinder, more compassionate person. They are often the type of people who rescued animals as a child or had a particular affinity for growing things. They are sensitive, empathetic and radiate lovingkindness wherever they go. Other people tend to gravitate towards them because of their gentle, loving nature.

This is summed up well by Sonia Vadlamani for Happiness Magazine,

“What is a lightworker? They feel an enormous pull towards helping others. These spiritual beings volunteer to act as a beacon for the Earth, and commit to serving humanity.”

They have a drive and ambition to pull the world out of its current miserable state and make it their mission to change the world, one person at a time. There is no more honourable profession than the lightworker because their motives are pure and selfless. They want others to be happy, they want love to permeate the world, and they have the desire to heal the world. They have a strong intuition about what motivates people and their actions and can instinctively tell when someone is in need of help or guidance.

Not all lightworkers are aware of their status as ‘lightworkers’. It takes much introspection and the discovery of self-awareness to awaken them to the importance of their mission. This can take years of learning about themselves and discovering their motivation to help others. It can also mean that they need to heal their own issues and traumas so that they can better serve humanity in a selfless way rather than a way that serves the ego.

There are many different ways to awaken the lightworker knowledge within yourself. Time, maturity and life experience are all undoubtedly essential factors in the journey to self-discovery, but there are methods you can use to help along the process. Meditation is a great way to start on the path. It is the key to unlocking the mind and tapping into your higher consciousness.

Manifestation is another tool you can use. Having a regular manifestation practice can help you gain insights about yourself and how you interact with the world, allowing you to look within yourself to discover what it is you really want to attract into your life.

Build a relationship with your spirit guides, your guardian angels, or God; whatever your belief system is, there is a way to contact benevolent beings who are helping you on your journey through this lifetime. Listen to them consistently, and ask for their guidance whenever you need it because they want to help you and see you happy and fulfilled. A happy and fulfilled lightworker is more effective, compassionate, empathetic, and kinder to others.

What does this mean for you, and are you a lightworker?

Anyone can be a lightworker as long as they’re willing to put in the work on themselves to be one. However, many people don’t have the emotional fortitude or capacity to be lightworkers. Many don’t want to do the work on themselves; they’d rather stay in their comfort zones, satisfying their ego desires. Their level of consciousness has been conditioned to be this way and has never been activated to want something more from life. This is perfectly okay as long as they aren’t harming anyone else or themselves. However, if you find something missing in your life, you have a longing to do something meaningful with your life or a desire to help others in some way; then you might have a calling to be a lightworker.

You might have a profound intuitive ability to recognise when someone is in pain or hurting emotionally and feel the need to reach out to help this person. You may feel as if you have a solid connection to the world and humanity and can see the big picture, as in knowing there are ways the world can be healed if only everyone would stop hating each other and start loving one another. You may feel different from others in a way that you can’t quite explain; a feeling like you are not of this world, that you must separate yourself from it at times for your mental wellness and sanity. These are all signs that you could be a lightworker.

What kind of lightworker are you?

According to Happiness Magazine, in an article by Sonia Vadlamani, there are eight different classifications of lightworkers. These include spiritual guides and healers, psychics and seers, gridworking and gatekeeping, manifestors, guides and messengers, transmuters, dreamers and travellers, and ascension guides.

1. Spiritual guides and healers

Spiritual guides and healers use their healing abilities to help those with physical trauma and illness, mental/emotional trauma and pain, and spiritual issues. These people often find themselves in occupations such as doctors, nurses, carers, palliative care, pastors and other clergy, and therapists. They can intuitively sense when people or animals are in pain and use their healing skills and knowledge to ease the pain or trauma.

2. Psychics and Seers

Psychics and Seers are incredibly intuitive and have a highly developed sense of awareness. This enables them to see past and present events and the future unfolding in ways that an average person can’t. Many of them use their abilities to help others. People such as tarot readers, mediums and clairvoyants use their talents of divination to ease people’s pain, trauma, loss and grief. They are also very attuned to the world at large. They are experienced at using their lightworking skills to heal the world on a larger scale by focusing their energy on areas where it is needed most to ensure a positive outcome.

3. Gridworking and Gatekeeping

This category of lightworkers focuses their energy and heightened awareness on the ‘grid’, a network of enlightened hearts and souls and sacred sites around the earth. Their purpose is to clear energy along ley lines so that all may flow into a state of balance and harmony. Gatekeepers are most often seen in occupations such as politics, ambassadorships, and civil service; and could also include mediation experts and mindfulness, health and wellness teachers.

4. Manifestors

Manifestors are those people who actively pursue their goals and dreams by using the Law of Attraction principles or manifestation. They have an intrinsic ability to focus on what they want and bring it into being. They have strong faith and trust in the Universe that what they seek will come to them, making them valuable lightworkers, especially when they set their minds to manifest for the greater good.

5. Guides and Messengers

Guides and messengers are a particular type of lightworker who make it their mission to motivate and guide others to follow the path to spiritual enlightenment. These people are often seen in occupations such as motivational speaking, life coaching, blogging, art, teaching and writing. Some even use the mediums of movies and television to spread their message, which is a very clever way to do it because it reaches people who might have yet to listen in any other capacity.

6. Transmuters

This type of lightworker uses their gift to mitigate negative energy, either in a collective way that benefits everyone or practice with individuals who may need to remove negative karma in their present or previous lives.

7. Dreamers and Travellers

This unique group of people have the vision to change the world in a tangible way by actively doing or creating something substantial to help humanity. These are the people who dream about ways they can better the world through active involvement in the fields of science, invention and exploration. They have an adventurer’s heart and aren’t afraid to take risks if they think it is worth pursuing.

8. Ascension Guides

Ascension Guides, who share many of the same qualities as guides and messengers, have a specific purpose: to focus on helping others ascend to a 5D consciousness, or true spiritual enlightenment. They help people get started on the path and help them to recognise the signs of spiritual awakening, to recognise synchronicity and show them how to listen to and follow the advice of their spirit guides.

As you can see, there are many different paths to choose from once you have recognised your calling as a lightworker. If you feel the Universe has tapped you to follow the way of the lightworker, look within to find which path aligns with your talent and passion. It is a sacred and holy duty to be a lightworker, and it is not always an easy path. It can be challenging at times because humanity is difficult and complex. In my experience, sometimes the hardest truth to face is accepting that you have a calling to be a lightworker. The denial of that calling can result in mental anguish and depression. It can lead to heartache and confusion, wondering why your life seems meaningless. Everyone has a purpose in life, and whatever that purpose may be, you will find that discovering your purpose can be a liberating and joyful experience. So, take the time to look within yourself and look at what may be holding you back from your true purpose. Finding it can literally change your life.
